Job Title: Landscape Labourer

Department: Parkway Landscaping

Reporting To: Landscape Manager

Job Purpose: The Landscape Labourer position will assist the Landscaping team with assembling the quality designs that Parkway Landscaping is known for and turning them into a finished product.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Operating and maintaining equipment 
  2. Strong Plant and tree knowledge
  3. Plant and maintain gardens and lawns
  4. Construct walkways, patios, walls, fences, decks, posts, etc.
  5. Ensuring that you are wearing the necessary personal protective equipment at all times
  6. Conduct preventive maintenance on necessary tools and equipment
  7. Transport raw materials using wheelbarrows, shovels, carts, etc.
  8.  Complete other tasks assigned to them by management

The Landscape Labourer will be required to work under the direction of management, however they will also have to work under their own initiative as well. Communication with various team members and customers is key to being successful in this position. This job will also require a tolerance to heat due to the greenhouse setting as well as from working outdoors.

Skills and Requirements

  1. Ability to lift up to and above 50lbs
  2. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow direction as well as work with minimal supervision
  3. Ability to work effectively as a member of a friendly, ever-growing team
  4. Demonstrated reliable attitude, honesty, and integrity
  5. Previous or similar experience an asset but not mandatory

Hours of Work

This position is Seasonal, full time, and will be 5 days a week. During our busiest season from mid-April to mid-June, employees may be required to work 6 days a week but will not exceed 48 hours.
